Nuisance worm targets WhatsApp users

A worm, more of a nuisance than dangerous threat, is spreading via instant messaging application WhatsApp.

The worm infects those who have installed a contact file dubbed Priyanka that appears to come from a friend on WhatsApp.

The worm then changes victim's phone contact names to “Priyanka”, according to a blog post on The Android Soul.

The worm is not currently widespread and can be removed by deleting the Priyanka contact file#mce_temp_url#. Steps are provided here.
