Nintendo Switch
Top gadget of 2017 rated.

2017 saw the release of a multitude of gadgets such as laptops, smartphones and gaming consoles. While these devices have been of the highest quality, only one can reign supreme this 2017. This gadget, which has surpassed all expectations, is none other than the Nintendo Switch.

The Nintendo Switch was unveiled in October 2016 and was released worldwide on March 3, 2017. The console is a hybrid console, which essentially means that it can either be used – when docked in the docking station – on a HDMI compatible television or, alternatively, be undocked and used as a handheld console.

As confirmed by Nintendo, since launch, Nintendo has sold 10 million Switch units to players worldwide. This puts the system well on its way to outperforming Nintendo’s last console, the Wii U, which has only sold 13.5 million units to date.

The Nintendo Switch also has a great selection of games at the moment, which include the likes of Super Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, and many more. Apart from the games available on the Nintendo Switch, one of this console’s biggest pulls is the fact that it is portable. No longer do you have to sit on the couch and be restricted to the living room environment, you can now game on the move anywhere you like… Whether it’s in the car, on a train, or in a plain… the Nintendo Switch has you covered with its 6.2-inch, multi-touch capacitive touch screen; which displays a resolution of 1280 x 720 thanks to the NVIDIA Custom Tegra processor.

While the Nintendo Switch may seem like the ultimate single-player experience, it also allows for multiplayer gaming experiences. Depending on the game, you can use a single Joy‑Con in each hand – or even give the second one to a friend. This, along with its 3-6 hour battery life, makes it the perfect gaming console whether you are looking for some good old living room entertainment or on the go fun.

Conclusion:
The Nintendo Switch is not only the ultimate home console, but it is also the ultimate portable console. To add to the accolades, the Nintendo Switch is a beautifully crafted device that is comfortable to hold when gaming for a long period of time.

Overall, the Nintendo Switch has been awarded as the Gadget of Year for 2017 by IT News Africa.
