Fernando Alonso kills two birds with one car during Indianapolis 500 test run
Fernando Alonso will hope that his first collision in IndyCar is also his last after hitting two birds simultaneously on his first test run around the circuit.
Alonso is taking a break from his McLaren-Honda driving duties at F1's Monaco Grand Prix at the end of May in order to race in the fabled Indianapolis 500 race.
His first run around the four-cornered 'oval' was impressive, but the 35-year-old double-champion probably hadn't counted on running into the local wildlife.
Back in Formula One, animals invading the track is not completely unheard of.
A stray black dog invaded the circuit at India in 2011, causing the practice session to be red-flagged, and the same thing happened 10 years earlier at the A1 Ring in Austria with a deer.
