Wladimir Klitschko: I want to fight Anthony Joshua early next year
Wladimir Klitschko has ruled out any thoughts of retirement and is targeting March or April next year for a showdown with Anthony Joshua.
In a turbulent month for the heavyweight division, which has seen Tyson Fury relinquishing two of the four heavyweight belts, and confusion surrounding which contenders will contest the vacant titles, former world champion Klitschko underlined his determination to return to the top of the division he dominated for almost 10 years.
In spite of having seen three title world title bouts fall through this year – two rematches with Fury and a proposed contest with Joshua in Manchester on Dec 10 – the Ukrainian, who will be 41 next spring, insisted he has “never thought about stopping, not once”.
